DEMENTIA STUDY COLLABORATION ANNOUNCED
Medical Cannabis Treatment for Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia
Cannformatics and Northwell Health, New York State's largest healthcare provider, are collaborating to launch a proof of concept study using our Cannabis-Responsive™ (C-Res™) biomarker technology. By analyzing saliva samples from dementia patients who are successfully using medical cannabis, we aim to identify C-Res biomarkers that move toward the physiological range in patients with behaviorial and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). This innovative AI-powered cannabinoid-based pharmacometabolomics approach has already shown success in children with autism and is a first step toward launching a service to tailor medical cannabis treatment for dementia.
